American Girl was founded in 1986 by a teacher-turned-entrepreneur who believed that exciting stories featuring diverse characters could inspire girls to make their own positive mark on the world. And she was right. We’ve helped generations of girls find courage, build confidence, and spread kindness through every age and stage of the growing-up journey.
