Marcus Liassides
Head of Digital
Marcus Liassides is Head of Digital of Mattel. He joined Mattel in 2024.
Mr. Liassides leads the global digital strategy across licensed games, Future Lab, and Mattel Game Studio, the company’s global game development and publishing organization. Mr. Liassides oversees partnerships that bring Mattel’s iconic brands to life through new digital experiences, guides Future Lab’s exploration of emerging technologies, and directs self-publishing initiatives that create original mobile games and direct fan connections.
Mr. Liassides was instrumental in Mattel’s full acquisition of the Mattel163 mobile games studio in 2026, which meaningfully advances Mattel’s digital games business, adding significant development, publishing, and digital customer acquisition expertise. Launched in 2018, Mattel163 has released four games based on Mattel IP: UNO!, UNO Wonder, Phase 10, and Skip Bo. Mattel163 and is now part of Mattel Game Studio.
A veteran operator and entrepreneur, Mr. Liassides has built and scaled multiple media and technology companies across streaming, advertising, and connected TV. Prior to Mattel, he served as President and CEO of Sorenson Media (acquired by Nielsen), where he led the company’s transformation into a data-driven TV advertising and measurement platform and grew revenue from early stages to a run-rate exceeding $60 million, forging landmark partnerships with major broadcasters and smart-TV manufacturers.
Mr. Liassides previously founded XUMO (acquired by Comcast), one of the earliest free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) services, securing distribution and content deals with leading media and consumer electronics brands. He also held senior roles at Move Networks (acquired by EchoStar as the technology precursor to Sling TV), where he ultimately became President and CEO, and at Viant/Myspace, where he led digital video and TV initiatives and launched new streaming products. Mr. Liassides began his entrepreneurial career founding Inuk Networks in the UK, an IPTV pioneer later acquired by Move Networks, and later launched Continuum Media.
Mr. Liassides has led industry-defining partnerships, scaled global teams, and advanced the state of digital and connected television. He holds multiple U.S. patents in ACR, dynamic ad decisioning, and streaming technologies.
Mr. Liassides studied Computer Science at Loughborough University and is a frequent speaker on digital media, gaming, and the convergence of content and technology.
